The Watson Headache® Approach identifies a previously unrecognized clinical pattern. Not only does the Approach accurately determine the neck joints involved but experience has shown it to be effective for many different diagnoses of headache or migraine.
The Watson Headache® Approach is a manual therapy methodology and protocol for examining and managing the upper cervical spine in all headaches.
The specific techniques of the Watson Headache Approach are supported by, and coupled with, an unprecedented clinical reasoning process born from Dr Dean Watson’s (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist) observation of a previously unrecognized clinical pattern. Essentially the Approach is a method of examining the movements of, and managing, the top three spinal segments of the neck.
The Watson Headache Approach consists of a series of techniques used systematically to examine the movements of the top three spinal segments. If headache or migraine is coming from a spinal disorder it will be from one or more of the top three spinal segments. The relevancy of a disorder is confirmed when gently stressing or moving these segments reproduces typical head pain or symptoms and the reproduced pain or symptoms ease as the techniques is sustained.
Physiotherapy Centre Bendigo’s Chantelle Pink has been trained by Dean himself in the Watson Headache Approach and is keen to help you with your headache and migraines. Make an appointment with Chantelle by calling (03) 5442 4044 or book online.
